I haven’t used After Effects before, so this time I decided to make a title sequence of my name. I added a sound effect on it, it’s the sound of honey bees. It took me about 1 hour to finished it, and the final one looks so funny: honey bees fly around my name. The reason I made this project is because I want to finish my first 7 in 7 project “woody the chick” with AE, so it’s a good time to practice using this software.

To finished it, first I need to draw a honey bee in the Illustrator, and import it to After Effects. Then I need to text “Sophie” on the screen, make a mask to block the name, and finally make the bees move.

Since I moved into my new home, I didn’t have any storage box in my bedroom, therefore I have to put everything on my desk, and this is the reason why my desk looks so mussy. So I decided to make a tiny little storage box using the material of a cookie box. When I finished the storage box, I hang it on my lamp, so it doesn’t take any spaces on my desk.

Rather than interacting with people by touching or clicking, I wanted to make something that people can experience and explore how senses (I chose visual and aural for my project) can really affect to their emotions by themselves.

Here is a prototype of the project – ” Eye versus Ear “.

The main first page will be like above picture. There is a question, “What do you think which will affect more to your mood?” and then below it, people can select one between visual or aural based on their thoughts.

1. Scary movie with exciting music or calm relaxing music

2. Comedy movie with scary mysterious sound or sad song 

Experiencing watching some movies with different (opposite) style of music can rethink about our senses that can affect to our mood.

Also, there is possible some emotional visual effects might be stronger than other emotions (like horror terrible visual effect might affect people’s mood more than calm silence visual effect).

I wanted to explore people’s mood that can be affected by their senses.

First time using Arduino…excited!

Today’s project began with a little ‘tongue & cheek’ I wanted to make light of my project from the previous day. I am still laughing about the fact that I attempted to make a song using Ikea parts. So today I thought I would design the album artwork for that ‘song.’

My concept was again, to use leftover Ikea parts as inspiration or shape and design, and then incorporate that into a graphic design piece. I used 7 different parts, and went through multiple arrangements to find a comfortable composition. Then used those layouts as the base for my design.

In the end this project has been my simplest so far, but ended up being harder than I thought. I really tried to take the sing into consideration when deciding on font, color, and layout.
