For further iterations I would love to set this up with a wider set of food options.

Originally I said I wanted to use organic material to design representations of man made objects. In this project I wanted to create a representation of a natural ecosystem within an artificial environment. I used material that I found outside ( rocks, soil, moss, a vascular plant) and placed them within a closed space that allows for a self-sustaining micro-ecosystem. It does not require oxygen or watering because the moss creates a humid climate, which the roots of the plant will soak up and use to photosynthesize.
Though this seems like a completely natural piece, the act of putting it together and placing it within the glass container makes it part of the artificial realm. I believe that attempting to capture nature is something humans have always tried to accomplish. There are certain times, such as creating this self sustaining piece, that we are reminded that nature does not really need us.

Comets are very mysterious to us, even if it have been observed and recorded since ancient times by many different cultures. In China, people believe comets can bring bad luck to their life. From Wikipedia, the comet is an icy small solar system body that, when passing close to the sun displays a visible atmosphere or coma and sometimes also a tail.
My third project is a game design called I am a comet. It is a game which allows people to experience the motions of comet by themselves. The game lets the player imagine that they are a comet in the sky and they can make there own tail on a blank canvas.
Here is my processing code for this game, using the arrow on the key-board to offer interaction between the star in the game and game player.
Here is a screen shot to show the motion of a comet in my game and a ring to the right represents the corona of the comet in the universe.

I wanted to explore more about human sensibility with interactive motion.
The day2 project, ” Touching the Blues”, has a concept of depression. I want to represent our inside depression with black color and try to describe anxiety, concerns, worries, solitude, and etc.- which affect people to be depressed- to blue circles. The blue circles’ minute movement shows unstable emotions of depression.
The interactive thing is that when we touch the blue anxieties, they turn to white bright circle which express overcoming depression by caring(touching) ourselves.
In this time, I will attach video I took while executing the above code because when I execute file in Java format, it works well, but it has some problem with Javascript format.
< The first video is just screen recording one >
< The second video is adding background sound by using RoadMovies App with iPhone5 >

I notice that in lots of buildings, there are ‘No Smoking’ signs, and under the words, there always have braille, for blind’s convenient, I really like this details used in society for disabled people. But information’s expression is not only using the form of words or braille, we should create a vivid way for blind to comprehensive meanings directly.
Blind could touch the real object, and feel interesting, that makes a new way for information expression, not just words. Here is a video to show more details:

My project today is also the animation of Woody, this time I made it 19 seconds. I did all the animation in the Photoshop, and I found it is a little bit hard for me to draw the movement which I never did before.
I spent about 2 hours to finish it, although the movement isn’t very smooth, I still believe that after one week’s practicing, I will improve a lot.
In this short animation, the chick looks down and jumps out of the cup trying to attract your attention.

Today I made a Pedometer that uses a phone’s accelerometer to count strides when you run.
My constraint was to make something that you interact with by exercising.
The resulting design concept was an app that played “choose your own adventure” audiobooks while you ran. The choices in the story would be determined by your activity during your run. For example, you could get a more descriptive narrator if you ran at a slower pace, or the action of the story could be decided by a sudden sprint. You could also detect when the user takes a break and rests. This could even be used to plan workouts by writing a balanced story.
My prototype only implements the basic functionality of counted steps. However, it only took one script to get it working, so it’s rather lightweight. It uses unity.

Plastic is one of most common human-made materials today. We can find them everywhere. It is durable, cheap and comfortable to use, but at the same time, it has become a major source of pollution on earth. My 2nd design project for 7 in 7 is to make a connection between plastic bottle and nature and demonstrate how a plastic bottle can coexist with nature instead casing troubles.
It seems so hard for urban people take care their plants in a fast paste city. Our plants usually die or dehydrate because we are too busy to water them everyday. A solution may be planting them inside a water bottle. This is called hydroponics.
People started to use hydroponics as a way to produce vegetables since the very early time of human agriculture history. Today, hydroponics is not only a technique for agriculture, but also for gardening purposes. Instead of buying a expensive fancy glass vase holder, we can just find a way to reuse our plastic bottle to make a perfect holder to plant bulb flowers.
First, cut the plastic bottle horizontally near the upper part of the “body cylinder” where it meets the “shoulder” of the bottle. This upper portion can now be flipped upside down and inserted back into the “body cylinder.” Now the bottle is ready to be used as a bulb holder. The last thing to do is to fill the bottom of the bottle with water.
The size of the top part of bottle with a hemisphere shape can hold most of common bulb flower’s bulb, such as hyacinthus, amaryllis, tulips, daffodils. The bulb holder can keep with bulb above the water and at the same time roots can go through the “mouth” hole to and reach to the water below.

Motivation for today’s project:
A lot of peple luv to take photo to their little cat. And one of my friend lived in Germany who have three little fat cute kitten. These three cat are crazy and excited when they are being shot by us. Sometimes they even want to steal our iphone in order to figure what is exactly this device. We think they are those kind of cat which is not only crazy about being shot but also dream to be a photographer. So I decide to do this project for them , a apps for cat to shoot the photo for itself.
Today I am consider about the question where is the end of a project. However, after finish this video, I found a lot of problem but I have spent couple of hours on it and I’m still wondering if I have more time how can I iterate it. I think THERE IS NO END for a project. The essence of the project is the iterating and rectifying process itself. For a good project, there are alway thousand NO for every Yes.
